Injury Care for Nocatee Families, a Drive North into Jacksonville
Nocatee is a master-planned community in St. Johns County, in the Ponte Vedra area. It is not part of the City of Jacksonville, and East Coast Injury Clinic does not have an office there. The clinic closest to you is our Southside clinic at 10550 Deerwood Park Blvd, Suite 609, Jacksonville, FL 32256, in the Deerwood Park office area near J. Turner Butler Blvd (JTB) and I-295 in Duval County.
There are chiropractors closer to home in the Ponte Vedra area, and for routine wellness visits one of them may suit you. Families here tend to make the drive to us when an injury needs more than one kind of provider: a medical exam, a chiropractic physician, physical therapy, nerve testing or pain management, all coordinated in one chart and documented for an auto or work claim.

Getting to Our Southside Clinic from Nocatee
Most trips start on Nocatee Parkway. From there, drivers usually pick one of two routes north:
- US-1 (Philips Highway) north to I-295. Take I-295 (the East Beltway) north toward J. Turner Butler Blvd, then follow signs for the Deerwood Park office area.
- SR-9B north. SR-9B feeds into I-295 on the south side of Jacksonville. Stay on I-295 north to the JTB area.
Outside rush hour the drive is on the shorter end of that 25 to 40 minute range. Weekday mornings on I-295 and JTB can add time, so leave a cushion for your first visit, which takes longer than a follow-up because it includes intake paperwork and a full exam. If you work on the Southside, you may find it easier to book before or after work instead of driving up from home.

Injuries We Often See from Commutes and Active Weekends
Life here involves a lot of highway driving and a lot of time outdoors. Both show up in the injuries people bring to an injury clinic:
- Commuting crashes. Rear-end and merging collisions on US-1, SR-9B, I-295 and JTB can cause whiplash, neck pain and back pain, even when the car damage looks minor. Our car accident injury clinic page explains what to do in the first days.
- Sports and fitness injuries. Running, cycling, golf, pickleball, paddling and team sports lead to sprains, strains and overuse problems. See sports chiropractic.
- Head impacts. A fall from a bike or a collision on the field can cause a concussion. Headache, dizziness or trouble concentrating after a knock is a reason to be checked.
- Work injuries. Many residents commute to jobs in Duval County. An injury on the job is handled under Florida workers’ compensation, wherever you live.
If you have severe or worsening pain, new numbness or weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a head injury with vomiting or confusion, go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 first.
What Our Southside Clinic Offers Nocatee Patients
A longer drive is easier to justify when one visit can cover several needs. At the Southside clinic, care is shared among several kinds of providers:
- Medical evaluation. Our medical doctors and advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) examine injuries and can make the Emergency Medical Condition (EMC) determination that Florida PIP requires for benefits above $2,500.
- Chiropractic care. Our chiropractic physicians, including chiropractic neurologists, provide chiropractic adjustments when they are appropriate for your injury and you consent.
- Physical therapy. Our physical therapists design rehabilitation programs with exercises you can keep doing at home between visits, which may help reduce trips.
- Nerve and balance testing. Electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies look at nerve irritation, and videonystagmography (VNG) looks at dizziness after a head or neck injury.
- Pain management. Pain management options include care from a visiting interventional pain physician when conservative care is not enough.
Provider schedules vary by day, so tell our front desk what you need and they will confirm who is available when you book.
Hurt in St. Johns County, Treated in Jacksonville: How PIP Works
Florida Personal Injury Protection (PIP) is statewide, so a crash in St. Johns County does not limit where you can be treated. The rules that matter most:
- Initial care must begin within 14 days of the crash (Fla. Stat. 627.736).
- PIP pays 80% of reasonable charges for medically necessary care, up to your policy limit.
- Without an EMC determination by an MD, DO, PA, APRN or dentist, PIP medical benefits are limited to $2,500.
- PIP does not pay for massage therapy.
Our front desk verifies your coverage before the first visit. If you live closer to the beaches or the Town Center, see our pages for Atlantic Beach and the St. Johns Town Center area, or browse all the areas we serve.
Planning Your First Visit from Nocatee
- Bring: a photo ID, your auto and health insurance cards, the claim number and crash report number if you were in a crash, a list of your medications, and your attorney’s contact information if you have one.
- Allow extra time: the first visit includes intake, a history and an exam, so plan for more time than a follow-up.
- Ask about scheduling: our front desk can suggest appointment times that avoid the heaviest I-295 traffic.
- Find us: Southside clinic details and contact options, or call (904) 513-3954.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Our Southside clinic on Deerwood Park Blvd in Jacksonville treats crash injuries for St. Johns County residents and handles the medical records and PIP paperwork that auto claims require. Medical providers, chiropractic physicians and physical therapists work in the same practice, so your care is documented in one chart.
It is usually about 25 to 40 minutes by US-1 or SR-9B to I-295 and then the JTB area. Traffic on I-295 during weekday rush hours is the biggest variable, so allow extra time for your first appointment.
PIP is statewide Florida coverage, so the county where the crash happened does not decide where you can be treated. Initial care must begin within 14 days of the crash, and PIP pays 80% of reasonable charges within your policy limit. Our front desk verifies your coverage before your first visit.
Yes. Our medical doctors and APRNs examine crash injuries at the Southside clinic. Only an MD, DO, PA, APRN or dentist can make the Emergency Medical Condition determination under Florida PIP. Without it, PIP medical benefits are limited to $2,500.
Yes. Our chiropractic physicians and physical therapists evaluate and treat sprains, strains and overuse injuries from recreational sports. Care usually combines hands-on treatment with exercises you can do at home, and individual results vary.
No. We have two clinics, both in Jacksonville. From there, the Southside clinic at 10550 Deerwood Park Blvd, Suite 609 is the closer one. Our North Jacksonville clinic at 13453 N Main St, Suite 302, north of I-295, is much farther away.
Call 911 if anyone is hurt, and get the crash report number. Notify your auto insurer and ask for a claim number. Then schedule a medical evaluation, since Florida PIP requires initial care within 14 days and some symptoms take a day or more to appear.
Most injury care at East Coast Injury Clinic is covered through one of four paths: auto insurance PIP after a car accident, a personal injury attorney’s Letter of Protection, state workers’ compensation for a work injury, or federal workers’ compensation (OWCP or Longshore) if you are a federal or maritime employee. We also see patients under Medicare, Tricare, VA Community Care, and a limited number of private plans. Our front desk verifies coverage before your first visit and explains exactly what is and is not covered for your specific case, so there are no surprises.
