For the Southpoint Office Workforce
Southpoint is an office district on Jacksonville’s Southside in Duval County, built around Belfort Rd and Southpoint Parkway near the I-95 and J. Turner Butler Blvd (JTB) interchange. Many people spend their workday at a desk here and drive I-95 or JTB to get to it.
Our Southside clinic at 10550 Deerwood Park Blvd, Suite 609, Jacksonville, FL 32256 is a few exits east along JTB, in the Deerwood Park office area. It is close enough for an early morning, lunch-hour or after-work appointment.

Driving Over from Southpoint
From most office buildings along Belfort Rd, the direct route is Belfort Rd to JTB, then east past Southside Blvd toward the Deerwood Park office area. If JTB is slow near I-95, Baymeadows Rd east is a reasonable alternate that reaches the same part of the Southside from the south.
Lunch-hour traffic on JTB is usually lighter than the morning and evening peaks. When you book, let our front desk know you are coming from work so they can suggest a time that fits. Our Google Maps listing has directions from your building.
Desk Work, Commutes and the Injuries They Cause
Office work is not dangerous in the way construction is, but long hours at a screen and a daily highway commute bring their own problems:
- Neck and upper back strain. A head held forward toward a monitor for hours loads the neck and shoulders and may contribute to neck pain and tension-type or neck-related headaches.
- Tingling or numb hands. Numbness in the fingers can come from the wrist, as in carpal tunnel syndrome, or from an irritated nerve in the neck, a pinched nerve. The treatment is different, so it is worth finding out which.
- Low back pain from sitting. Long stretches in a chair, then a long drive home, can aggravate back pain and sciatica.
- Interchange crashes. The I-95 and JTB interchange sees heavy merging traffic. Rear-end collisions there can cause whiplash; our car accident injury clinic page covers the first steps.
- Work injuries. An injury that happens on the job, including at an office, is handled under Florida workers’ compensation once your employer’s carrier authorizes care.
Sudden weakness in an arm or leg, a severe headache unlike any before, or chest pain are emergencies. Call 911.
Is It Your Neck or Your Wrist? Testing at the Southside Clinic
For office workers with arm pain or tingling hands, a clear answer can save weeks of treating the wrong thing. At the Southside clinic:
- A hands-on neurological exam checks strength, reflexes and sensation in the arms and hands.
- Electromyography (EMG) and nerve conduction studies measure how well nerves and muscles are working and can help tell a nerve problem at the wrist from one at the neck.
- Treatment follows the findings. Options may include chiropractic adjustments by our chiropractic physicians, physical therapy with posture and strengthening exercises, and a referral for imaging or a specialist when the exam calls for it.
Simple workstation changes can help too: screen at eye level, feet flat, elbows near 90 degrees, and short breaks to stand and move every so often. Many patients report that these habits make a difference, and individual results vary.
Nearby, see our pages for Baymeadows and Town Center, or all areas we serve.
Scheduling Around the Workday
- Morning, lunch or after work: tell our front desk your schedule and they will look for a time that fits.
- If this is a work injury: report it to your employer and bring your workers’ comp claim number and adjuster’s contact information.
- Bring: photo ID, insurance cards, and notes on when your symptoms started and what makes them worse.
- Find us: Southside clinic details, contact us or call (904) 513-3954.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. Our Southside clinic on Deerwood Park Blvd is a few exits east of Southpoint along JTB. Our chiropractic physicians and physical therapists treat neck and upper back pain, and our medical providers are on the same team if you need a medical evaluation.
It can be either, and sometimes both. A neurological exam and, when appropriate, EMG and nerve conduction testing can help show where the nerve is irritated. That answer shapes the treatment plan.
Often, yes. Follow-up visits are usually shorter than the first visit, and the clinic is a short drive away. Ask our front desk for a midday time when you book.
Florida workers’ compensation can cover injuries that happen on the job in any workplace, including offices. Report the injury to your employer within 30 days. The carrier then authorizes your treating provider before care starts.
Take Belfort Rd to JTB and head east past Southside Blvd toward the Deerwood Park office area. Baymeadows Rd east is an alternate route. The drive is often 10 to 20 minutes.
They may help. Raising your screen to eye level, keeping your feet flat and taking regular movement breaks reduce the load on your neck. Our physical therapists can give you exercises to go with those changes.
Most injury care at East Coast Injury Clinic is covered through one of four paths: auto insurance PIP after a car accident, a personal injury attorney’s Letter of Protection, state workers’ compensation for a work injury, or federal workers’ compensation (OWCP or Longshore) if you are a federal or maritime employee. We also see patients under Medicare, Tricare, VA Community Care, and a limited number of private plans. Our front desk verifies coverage before your first visit and explains exactly what is and is not covered for your specific case, so there are no surprises.
